family fun

About a month ago we took a short family vacation. We went all the way to Salt Lake. Steve found us a great little hotel, that had a 24 hour swimming pool and free breakfast. We left Saturday after Andy's basketball game and came home Monday night. Saturday night the kids got to go swimming. On Sunday we went to the zoo. It was a little cold when we first got there, but it warmed up nicely. We normally go in the middle of the summer, so it was nice not to be melting. After the zoo we did more swimming. On Monday the kids went swimming again and then we headed up to Odgen to go to the Dinosaur Park. It was fun, but little did we know, that most of the park is outside. We will have to go back in the summer. It would be so much more fun for the kids in the summer. Lots of room to run around, giant dinosaurs with loud noises, smaller ones to climb on, swings, slide that would have been more fun had there not been 2 feet of snow. The kids did try to play on the playground, but when the end of the slide is buried in snow and the swings are sitting on the snow instead of swinging, it wasn't too much fun. We then headed home, with most of the day left to play we decided to go to see the Bee Movie. That was fun! It is so nice to see a movie that is clean and you don't have to worry about the conversations that will have happen later. We don't get to see Steve that much because of his work schedule so it was nice to have him around for a few days.

Tag You're It!!
Rules:The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themself. At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago:
I was working for Discover Card in Salt Lake and hating the drive from Provo. Expecting our first child, and not really sure where life was going at this point. But I know that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him, (Romans 8:28) and He has.

5 things on my to-do list today:
-School, make Valentine's crafts
-Put together bookshelves for school books I just bought
-Work on blog
-Not have a headache (wish that had happened)
-Work on taxes

Snacks I enjoy:
-Chips and Salsa! I remember getting out a big bag of chips and a bowl of salsa and sitting on the couch with my dad and eating and eating and eating. I now do that with our kids.
-Coke! I don't know if that counts as a snack, but i use it as one.
-Fiber One bars.
-Cheetios!
-Cereal with milk (my before bed snack)

What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
Build our dream home, pay off my parents home, buy my mom a new car, buy more bookshelves to hold all the books I will be buying, help our church pay off the building they are trying to buy; save, invest, and then give a little to Steve to play with.

5 places I have lived:
these are from the begining of me:
1-Jackson, Mississippi
2-Montgomery, Alabama
3-Birmingham, Alabama (several places in B'ham)
4- Salt Lake City, Utah
5-Payson, Utah
(still too many to list, that is another blog entry)

5 jobs I have had:
1-(first job) working with my dad at Cornerstone Video (a Christian Video Distributier)
2-Casalino Creative Arts (ballet teacher for pre-ballet students)
3-Arby's
4-Discover Card
5-Weight Watchers (still working part-time/part-time and loving it)

5 things people don't know about me:
-I was born in the same hospital that my mom was.
-I love fried okra and molasses!
-I have given my husband my two week notice, several times. It just gets too much for me sometimes, the laundry, dishes the monotony of it all. I mean really didn't I just wash this dish? How can these pants be dirty, I just put them away. I don't mind doing the house work, it is the maintance that I hate.
-I sometimes wish I had gone to Bible college. I have some good friends that did and I am so jealous of their knowledge of the Word. We are studing in our ladies Bible study the book of Luke. I am learning so much!
-I have a basket of books to read, and books I am reading. Right now I am reading 5 different books. (I get that from my mom) I know I would get through books so much faster if I were to read one at a time, but what fun is that?

Snowboarding Fun

Andy had his first snowboarding lesson. He had a great teacher and was the only one in the class. He said he fell alot, but still had fun. He even got to go on the lift. The best part was he didn't fall off when it was time to get off. After he had come down a run he was covered in snow. He can't wait to go again.
