Colonial Days

In our co-op (we get together with another family once a week and do history/science/art and missions) we just finished the Revolutionary War time. And we thought it would be fun to have a Colonial Days Celebration. We made costumes, had food and games. My dear friend Michelle organized the whole event and she did a great job!

Our group, I didn't have a costume so I took the picture.

Michelle made her costume, she also made my kids costumes.

Caleb and Andy. Andy loved his hat, he made it.

Making candles.

Playing marbles.

Flowers

Ellyn took some pictures while we were at Thanksgiving Point (It was the only way to get her to go. Andy was staying at Grandma's and she wanted to stay also, i now know that if the kids had to pick between Grandma and mom, Grandma wins every time.) I did take some shots also. It was just so beautiful, hard to believe that it snowed later that same day.

Mother/Daughter Time

This past Saturday we had a mother/daughter outing at Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival. It was so beautiful. The daughters enjoyed running around the gardens and the mothers enjoyed the adult conversation. The day started out a little windy and cold. Ellyn saw the windmills and they were just a spinning and I almost turned around. But thought maybe it will clear up. And it did. For a few minutes. It was almost warm, and then it was freezing. Poor Ellyn was just crying she was cold and hungry. So some of our group headed for Del Taco. Warm restaurant, warm food, indoor play area and great friends. No better way to spend an afternoon.Ellyn and her little friends running and smelling the flowers.

The girls sat for a pictures, they were so cute that other people were taking pictures of them.

Something New

A very dear friend of mine has started selling some very cute things on esty.com. Please go and check out her stuff and if you so feel inclined get something new.

Check out RiverwoodsDesign and see what cute things Sarah is selling. She has a great eye, I love how she has decorated her house and I love going shopping with her. She always finds the greatest finds and gets a great deal in the process.

I want to help her get her shop going, so if you could pass thing along to anyone who you might think would like it or just help her get the word out that would be great!!

Easter Dinner

Each year we have an Easter Egg hunt at Grandma Snyder's. She even hides things for the big kids. This year the big kids got a movie (Bedtime Stories) and the little kids got candy, treats and a special gift.

Thanks Grandma and Papa.

They had to wait downstairs while we hid all the goodies.

The kids got their new baskets and were ready to run.

Ellyn found a treat, I hope she will share.

Jocelyn, up on the counter to find her goodies. I think Tim was helping so he could eat her treats.

Andy got a cool Cars drawing book.

And Ellyn got a neat Dora coloring/painting book.

A little bit of shopping

I went shopping tonight. To this cute little place north of use. The owner had some very nice jewelery to pick from. I wasn't too sure what I wanted so I just looked around a bit. Talked to the owner tried on a skirt (very sad it didn't fit) and then decided on these cute things. A bracelet and earrings, the owner is also going to custom make me a necklace. I picked out the colors and described what I wanted and she seemed very excited to do it for me. Oh, did I mention it is my sister-in-law? Thanks Michelle.

Reading Corner

I was talking to my wonderful husband about reading and the kids and he came up with this great idea. He suggested we have a reading corner for them. We have this area in the back of the basement, a corner by the bookshelves that would be perfect for them. Put down a rug get some pillows and have two baskets of books one for each of them. I loved the idea and while at Walmart picked up a cute rug and two pillows and they do love it.

This picture is good for a mom's heart.
